Marita Altman

Marita Altman joined Lethbridges in 2000 after completing her law degree at Monash University and her articles at Slades and Parsons, Melbourne.

Marita also has an Arts (Journalism) degree from the University of South Australia and worked for six years in media in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. These qualifications and experience in journalism and the media, combined with her legal expertise, means that Marita is an excellent communicator, both before the court and with clients.

Marita’s caseload runs the full spectrum from major drug importation, complex commercial fraud and murder prosecutions to Magistrates’ Court summary criminal matters.

Alex Wilson

Alex began working at Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors as a paralegal

while completing her Law degree in mid 2004.  Alex graduated from Monash

University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Music with outstanding

results in criminal law, federal criminal law and intellectual property.

Alex was admitted to practice after completing her Professional Legal Training

at the College of Law.  She has wide-ranging experience in criminal law including

complex frauds and major drug prosecutions to Magistrates’ Court summary

criminal matters.

Derek Schrapel

Lethbridges Barristers and Solicitors

Derek Schrapel joined Lethbridges in 2007 bringing with him previous experience in criminal and commercial law. He graduated from his Science/Law double degree at Monash University in 2002, and was admitted to practice in March 2003 after completing his articles at Behan & Speed, Melbourne.  Derek was also awarded a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Criminology) from Melbourne University in 2005. 

Derek’s area of practice ranges from more complex County Court matters involving property offences, dishonesty offences and offences against the person, through to Magistrates’ Court summary criminal matters. He has experience in dealing with many different types of clients, contributing to his outstanding communication and advocacy skills.
